Heat ~ A steaming hot cloth or heat from a dryer can loosen the adhesive layer and remove or peel it off. My drying method, along with the product, did wonders for this house!
Tools ~ Scraper or knife for loosening tape, stickers and debris. When using these tools I am always careful not to damage the finish.
Products ~ Common household products such as rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover with acetone can be helpful. There are also some great products on the market; Goo-Buster, Goof-Off or Goo-Gone, to name a few. These products clean up waste quickly.

Before the floor experts jump on me (or criticize my comments), I should say that they generally do not recommend using harsh chemicals like acetone to clean floors.
Honestly, who has the energy to get on your hands and knees with a wire brush and scrub and scrub for days? Just thinking about it makes me tired. Maybe I should blame the guy who cleaned up his mess. 🙁 Either way, it won’t help the problem.

To remove glue from wood floors, boil a pot of water. Soak some old towels in water and then place them on top of the glue. After it has set for 3 to 5 minutes, remove as much of the glue as possible. Carefully use a floor scraper to remove the residue.
