Best Things To Do For A 14 Year Old Birthday – Not long ago I myself thought about traveling to London with the children of hell. I know there are lots of things to do in London with kids but I still think of it as an ‘adults only place’.
I lived in London for 3 years and spent my time there walking around bars and nightclubs and I can’t imagine my boys joining the London life!
Best Things To Do For A 14 Year Old Birthday
Last year my kids were toddlers and the thought of negotiating the Underground, wading through crowds and avoiding streaks of kids at epic landmarks was overwhelming.

But when my eldest son was four years old, a miracle happened. He stopped working hard and was very happy to spend the day with her.
He holds my hand in his fists, he goes out to dinner and sits down to eat, he doesn’t yell or scream when things don’t go his way and he stops showing his pants to strangers (yeah especially for getting Paw Patrol pants that he wants to show off to people!)
Around this time (the time he stopped acting more like a human and less like a demon) I got an email asking me if I wanted media tickets to bring my family to see Peter Rabbit in the theater. The next day I had another email asking if I could review a new hotel like apartment in London. And the next day I got an email from an old friend asking if I wanted to come to London. That last email was the last push I needed to go ahead and book a trip to London with a 4 year old.
So today I want to tell you about my trip to London with a baby, some of the fun things to do in London with kids and the perfect ‘hometel’ for families. If you’re not sure what hometel means, don’t worry, I’ll get it!

I think any age from 4 is good. George is young enough to be surprised by everything but not too young to be difficult. My son is two years younger and I left him at home for a reason! It can be a pain and it’s also harder when you have to factor in nap times and kids get bored easily.
I have never brought a pushchair to London but I saw them for the first time and realized that it is a very easy city to negotiate a pushchair.
It’s easier if your child is old enough to get out and up any steps while carrying the pushchair – but there’s usually someone to help you if you need it. I recommend the BabyZen YOYO+ for cities because it explodes small and it explodes quickly and easily. You can fold it up, throw it over your shoulder and then carry your child up the stairs too if you need to.
You’ll notice there aren’t many museums on the list which is why George was about to enjoy the Natural History Museum but was ready to leave after an hour. I don’t think she’s old enough for the rest (and tbh, there are a lot more fun things to do than look at things in glass cabinets!)

I also didn’t take any tours like the Harry Potter Warner Bros studios because they are very expensive and I don’t think you will be there for long with a young child (you really don’t get your money’s worth !) ‘Exclude the zoo or aquarium because there are zoos and aquariums all over the country, so save that while you’re at home.
George is the right age for this production because he is drawn to the characters and the music. There were little kids in the audience who weren’t sitting still and older kids who were clearly bored, so I’d say ages 4-7 are close.
A trip to the theater is also a much-needed break in the afternoon and gives us a good excuse to sit quietly for a few hours, so I recommend breaking up the day with a trip to the theater just for this reason. reason!
Where is Peter Rabbit? a great production that George and I loved. The only difficulty was that Peter Rabbit wasn’t there for long. As the name suggests, it’s about finding Peter Rabbit so he doesn’t end up in the show until the end (spoiler alert: they actually find him in the end!) But for me, it’s a show without the main character because they spent the game. looking for him. It’s like watching Harry Potter without Harry.
Gift Ideas For 14 Year Old Girls
I stayed in room2 and it has quickly become one of my favorite places to stay in London. It was exactly what I was looking for in a London hotel and more than I knew other hotels were missing.
I stayed in room 2 in Hammersmith, which is now their only property in London. I hope they open up more about the city! room2 is not specifically a family hotel but it is perfect for visiting London with children.
Room 2 is a ‘hometel’, so it feels like a hotel but with a more friendly, informal and homey vibe. It’s like a modern bed and breakfast for millennials.
The property feels like a very large townhouse with individual rooms inside. All rooms have kitchens with everything you need to make a proper meal. There is no reception desk or staff around and you are sent a pin code to enter the building and a pin for your room. If you have a problem you can email them but everything seems to be working fine and I have had no problems.
Travelling To London With A 4 Year Old + 14 Fun Things To Do In London With Kids
Our room in bedroom 2 was spacious and modern and comfortable. There is a big bathroom and I love the little things that make it a ‘hometel’. The welcome note was handwritten, there were balloons for George and the information leaflets had little extras like local restaurant and bar recommendations and a map for local amenities like supermarkets and discounts. vouchers for restaurants across the street.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes from Hammersmith tube station which is great as Hammersmith is on the Piccadilly Line, Circle Line, Hammersmith & City Line and District Line so getting around London is easy from here.
My main tip is to check the weather and, if necessary, make sure to pack clothes that you can wear in the rain. You spend a lot of time outside traveling from place to place and it almost always rains. There are many indoor activities in London but you will be wet traveling between them so make sure you are prepared.
On that note, make sure you have an Uber account set up so you can easily order an Uber if you get stuck in the rain or your kid is really tired.

Pack as light as you can, especially if you’re taking public transportation to and from your accommodation. If you are new to tubing it can be a bit stressful, especially during the season. Add a toddler to the mix and it gets worse. Add a heavy suit of goods and you have a ride from hell! I travel with a backpack so I have both hands free and can take steps easily.
All these kid-friendly activities are informal so your kids can wear trainers, jeans and cozy jumpers so pack whatever you’d normally wear at home.
Don’t forget, no matter where you live, you are not far from convenience stores so you can find everything you need when you arrive.
If you’re going by train in London with your kids, don’t forget to check your family train ticket prices. Children under 5 travel free so I didn’t need to buy a ticket for George but I found it cheaper to buy a family return ticket than an adult. With a single adult I am limited to off-peak hours (which doesn’t work for us) but the family ticket has no time restrictions!
