To remove a dealership logo from your car using heat, start by cleaning the logo sticker and the area around it with car-safe soap and water. Then place the dryer a few inches away from the logo sticker and turn it on. Move it from side to side of the logo until it sticks a little or rolls under your finger. Slide a plastic card under the logo, if it’s a sticker, to help peel it off. If the logo is a badge, run a piece of fishing line behind the plastic to cut the adhesive. Guys, obvious aside – just take your time and proceed with caution, does anyone know a tried and true way to remove dealership stain without damaging the paint? Is there a special solvent or compound I can buy and use beforehand that will help remove the sticker but not the clear coat paint?

I just got rid of mine. But, it was in AZ. You need to heat the surface a bit, dry it a lot, then remove it. WD40 will also help as it softens the adhesive.

A 3 meter eraser wheel works well. You put it on the drill and it cleans all the stickers off the paint without using chemicals.

Don’t you hate those decals…free advertising for the dealer and they just look ****ty. Always take mine out too. A little heat…gently remove…clean off any glue residue with rubbing alcohol, it will come off – just the soft gel version or direct benzine on a cloth and then window cleaner or soapy water. Clean with water. I have never had a paint problem with this approach.

Yes, the only way dealers can keep the sticker is if they send me a monthly royalty check for advertising their business.

You can use pure alcohol hand sanitizer on drops of tree sap. Simply dab the stain in place, let it sit for a minute to soften and rub lightly to get the juices out, then hit it with wax. You can also do the same to remove any decal residue after using a hair dryer to remove the sticker.

The best method I have found is to remove them and use polish to remove the gum and then wax.

Lac thinner? Again, clear coat issues are possible. There are many non-destructive glue removers available. The lost one. And you won’t need to remove the wax. Do you have any recommendations on how to use corrective paint in two places? I spoke to the guy at the clothing store while I was there and he said it’s never going to be perfect, even after touch up paint you can definitely tell it’s been touched up.

Was it a used or new car? If it was used it looks like they were trying to cover the damage to the existing paint as I have never seen a dealer sticker before except for the windows.

I bought a new one. Yes, the dealer’s sticker was there, under the Civic badge. I wish it was on the window.

Same for me. Honda seems to have used too thin or cheap paint. I removed my Civic logo from the left side and it also removed 3 small paint spots. The dealer can’t do anything I wouldn’t expect, but that’s just bad. I had to touch them up with OEM CW paint from the dealer. You can’t tell until you’re up close, but it’s too bad because I know they’re there. You can order a whole new trim. I haven’t decided yet. Don’t think the dealer was scammed, just think the paint is cheap…unfortunately.

I guess that’s what the heat did. It’s not uncommon for dealers to put their logo on a car around me. Do you feel a chip with your nail? It looks like you removed the clear from the base (colored paint) because the E coat on them is a green tint.

OP, how about a smart fix if it goes over your head? I can fix it not too easily

Not sure if this is an option you have, but I got a reasonable repair package from Honda when I got the car. 6 calls in a year…. I am in person with a friend
