Each of us has certain parts of our body that we want to strengthen and tone. As a health and fitness coach, a common area I am asked about by clients is the lower abdomen. Many people want to get rid of the “dog” in this area, which can be difficult to target with employees.
The good news is that there are effective exercises for toning the lower abdominal area and they are easy to do at home without any equipment.
And working on your lower abs can do so much more for your body than just creating a flat stomach! Developing a strong core is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your body. Our core connects our upper and lower limbs, which is very important to how our body moves and functions every day. A stronger core helps us perform both cardio exercises and daily activities with ease, reducing the risk of injury and making your workout routine more effective.
Exercises To Get Rid Of Belly Fat
Yes, this five minute routine will tone your lower abs and help you achieve a flat stomach if that is your goal. But more importantly, it will build a stronger core and ultimately a stronger body.
Lie on your back with your knees and feet on the floor. Lift your feet and bring your toes apart and your knees shoulder width apart. Bring your inner thighs together as you extend your legs outward at a 45-degree angle. Exhale to return to center. Repeat 10 times.
Start on your back and straighten your legs in front of you. Raise your legs toward the ceiling, then exhale as you slowly lower your legs to a 45-degree angle to the floor. Inhale as you lift your legs again. Repeat 10 times.
Lie on your hands and knees, with your elbows on your wrists and your knees under your knees. Pull your belly button toward your back. Put your fingers down. From here, lift your knees about an inch off the ground, engaging your core. Lower back. Repeat 10 times.

Start in a plank position with your elbows on your wrists. Brace your lower abs as you curl your hips up and back into downward dog. Bring your friends to the floor and your butt to the ceiling. Press firmly between your hands. Then slowly return to the board. Repeat 10 times.
Lie on your back and straighten your legs in front of you. Put your hands behind your head, on your shoulders. Raise your knees to a table top position so that your shins are parallel to the floor. Lift your shoulder blades off the mat. Straighten your right leg as you bring your left knee toward your right shoulder. Return to center, bringing your right knee to your left side before switching sides. Repeat 10 times on each side.

The core is the central part of the body, that is, the trunk, and consists of 16 different muscles. When we talk about the core, we’re talking about the deeper muscles that stabilize you in everything you do.
Think of a can. The top of the canal is the diaphragm and the bottom is the pelvic floor. On the outside of the pelvis are the superficial muscles: the rectus abdominis and the external obliques. These are six-pack muscles.
Inside the abdomen are deep muscles called the transversus abdominis, internal muscles, and deeper back muscles. The inner thighs, glutes, shoulders and neck also support the core.

When exercising to lose belly fat, don’t limit yourself to traditional exercises – try something different! This is a fun exercise that is made more interesting by using a medicine ball.
