In my humble opinion, there are two categories of games: modern games and timeless games. I’m here to plead for more focus on children’s endless games.

Children’s “fashion toys” often have a short life span: they may attract attention quickly but usually keep it. The child will probably be finished with the game within a few days or months. The game is “instant”, flashy, and does not grow with the child.

The games have a wide age range. For example: Toddlers are the first age group to enjoy wooden blocks. Nine-year-olds still play with them. We cannot limit wooden blocks to small children – this is only the first age a child can enjoy them.
This list is gender neutral (as are all games). Everything on this list is great for both boys and girls, and everyone loves and uses it.
Our girls need the opportunity to engineer just as our boys need the opportunity to be creative. Please do not play with sex.
