I Got Fired From My Job For No Reason

I Got Fired From My Job For No Reason – Damn! Ash!!! I haven’t had fries since today. Cali-girl (59) #inlife • 7 years ago (edited) Today, I’m experiencing Peter Gibbons from Office Space, one of my favorite movies of all time. Until I got my own office job a few years ago, I didn’t really appreciate the fact that office space dishes out. On Friday, my boss asked me to make a list of extra tasks I could do because I had nothing to do. Halfway through Sunday, I wrote a very short list. Took me less than 2 minutes. Meh. And then I bolted into the office today without a single thought if I was fired or not. You can do that, right? I didn’t go to ask for my job. I’m a contractor, so they can fire me whenever they want. So why don’t I care, you ask? Because this is a “job” and I want to earn my own money, be my own boss I am looking at the possibility of a few other side projects. My work requires more than I need. Why worry and live in fear? I won’t be and look like Peter, and sure, I’ll do what’s expected of me, but why do anything else? It’s not like I’m going to be rewarded for my dedication. I mean, what workplace do we think?!? ?!? We have no reward for substandard workers and contractors. I even wore my sneakers today. Haha you’re probably wondering what happened at the meeting… I wasn’t fired. My boss was really pleased with my microlist. Go to the picture. Deep down, I hope he tips me pink. @Cali-Girl has officially quit her job. Everyone had/have a great Monday!
