Easter Basket Ideas For 18 Month Old

Today I decided to share what we will put in our little one’s Easter basket. My goal was to keep it under $20 and fill it with practical and fun items. | This post contains affiliate links

Our little girl is only 15 months old, she has more than enough toys and she doesn’t eat sweets yet, so I was a bit confused at first what to put in her Easter basket. After some thought, I decided to fill it with a few things she needs anyway, and a few things to use outside when the warmer weather arrives (one day soon, I hope).

I started with the Easter basket I made for her last year (you can read my post about making her button Easter basket here). First I filled the bottom with paper Easter grass – if you have a kid and a dog it’s really important to use paper Easter grass instead of plastic in case it gets eaten. Paper grass is also much more environmentally friendly.

Since I got the free board book, I’ve spent about $15 on everything – wow!

All of these items can be made for a girl or a boy and are easy to customize if you want to make them more suitable for your child. I hope I have given you some ideas of what to put in your child’s Easter basket. Happy Passover! Ahhh, the weather is slowly getting warmer and I’m already so excited for one of my favorite seasons! Easter! Easter is undoubtedly a holiday that takes us from the long cold days of winter to the cheerful warm days of spring and summer!

Pcs Baby First Cloth Books Set

I love filling Easter baskets every year (before my boys, I made them for my husband!) 18 month olds can be a bit hard to buy for, they are too old for many baby toys (rattles, teethers). etc) but they are too small for many choking hazard toys and candies!

Post Scriptum. I also have their Easter baskets from last year in a blog post if you need some ideas for your one year old!

Water Wow and Magic Marker Books: These are great no-mess coloring ideas that are perfect for beginners like my boys! They are also great for the car! (Although I linked a few that you can buy, I was able to find mine at Target for a dollar and T.J. Maxx for less!)

Color with a water coloring book and a normal coloring book: again the messy option with water color! Plus, you can’t go wrong with a basic coloring book featuring your favorite characters! (Again, check Dollar Tree or Target Dollar Place for coloring books!)

Sidewalk Chalk: While there are tons of cute Easter egg options, I chose this giant tub for $6! Such a great deal!

The boys definitely needed a new swimsuit for our upcoming trip to the beach, so I bought them a lovely one from H&M. I can’t see the exact one on their site right now, but it’s super cute and very similar!

I love the idea of putting something in your child’s Easter basket that you have to buy anyway! I didn’t have enough room to put much else in the cart, but sandals or crocs, glasses, a bathing suit, sun hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, bug spray, new pajamas, a new t-shirt or dress are great ideas!

Melissa and Doug Turtle Sand Baking Set: We’re going to the beach in May, so I knew I wanted to get them some sand toys! I thought this kit was cute, great value, and easy!

Kids Easter Basket Ideas

Mickey and Yoda Pop-it: These pop-up violin toys are so popular right now! While you can get pretty much anything you want from them, I love that Disney released a collection! They are well made and so cute! There are so many more options, including Minnie, Olaf, Ariel and Stitch!

Haba Musical Eggs: Okay, this was a little extravagant, but I honestly couldn’t find a cheaper “dopa” for these other than the regular “rice” shakers. I think my boys will love these and all the other sounds they make! I know they love some simple instruments like this from music lessons so I think this will be a hit! And they are totally in line with the “egg” theme for Easter!

Aside (Psalms 139): This lovely desk book is written by the same company that makes the Jesus Bible (one of our favorites!). The illustrations are beautiful and the story is about God being with them wherever they are! Also, this is a fun “I Spy” book Because the last page has all the different things the kid walked around in his room! (like a spaceship night light!)

Found (Psalms 23): Another table book from the same company as Jesus’ Bible. This book reminds children how God always cares for them! I think this cover is very “Eastern” and springy!

Easter 2024 Gift Ideas For Babies’ Baskets: Toys, Apparel And More

The First 100 Animals: We loved our copy of Baby’s First 100 Words. My boys learned so much! So this book seems like a great addition, especially since we’re so into animals and animal sounds right now!

I don’t like my boys eating too much sugar. I thought some cute Reese’s Eggs and Bunny Cookies (I found these at Target) would be good to add to their baskets! I also added some Bobo Oatmeal Oats that they have never tried before! I may still add some of their favorite packs to fill any gaps in the cart!

OK! that’s it! Tell me what you like to put in your child’s Easter basket! I always love to see what other parents think!
